NBA 2010-2011 season

I think the NBA season to date has been very interesting. Before the season started I would have predicted that the Lakers and Celtics would meet again for the championship. I’m going to stick with those picks, but it is clear that at least four or five other teams could end up in the championship round of the playoffs. Miami, Orlando and Chicago have to be considered threats in the East, while San Antonio and Dallas could end up taking out the Lakers.

I can’t believe that I am writing this, but the LA Clippers have become my favorite team to watch this year, primarily because of Blake Griffin. Griffin is the most exciting player to come into the league since LeBron James. I certainly agree with all the basketball pundits who predict Griffin will be rookie of the year. It is not even close. Heck, he should be named to the All Star game imo.

I’m also please to see that the NY Knicks have finally assembled a decent team for the first time in a while. Hopefully they will remain above .500 and make the playoffs. The NBA just isn’t right when New York doesn’t have a good team. Amare Stoudemire has exceeded my expectations. I thought he had peaked in Phoenix, but he is playing like a top ten player.
